~ Grandmother Lucy Clare Haysom (nee Clifford, later Smith) born July 9, 1883. The Haysoms lived in Worcester Park, Surrey. This photo was taken in 1919 just before she emigrated to Canada as the wife of Art Smith of Regina, Saskatchewan ( he had served overseas during the war). What a shock it must have been to go from outer London to Regina at that time! The children are, from left to right, Winnifred Clare (my mother) age 5, Arthur Walter age 11, and Veronica Marie age 7. ~ |
